Location

Kirkkonummi

Kettu is located in Kirkkonummi, a coastal municipality west of Helsinki known for its long shoreline, historic manor houses, and proximity to the sea. The area is well connected yet close to nature, with a mix of forests, small villages, and cultural landmarks.

Nearby, the Porkkala peninsula stretches into the Gulf of Finland, offering some of the most striking coastal scenery in southern Finland. Hiking trails, birdwatching sites, and sheltered bays make it a popular destination for day trips, while the open views across the sea highlight the peninsula’s history and natural beauty. With Helsinki less than an hour away, guests at Kettu can enjoy both the quiet of the coast and the services of the capital.

From The Owner

As we arrived at the location for the first time in early spring 2020, we just fell in love with the view. The Villa is over 10 meters above the sea level on a rock that is over a million years old and it made us feel safe. This also gives you one of the most amazing views to the Baltic Sea. Far in the horizon, you can see cruise boats on their way to Sweden or even further. A cruise ship with all the lights on in the middle of a rising moon is something you need to see for yourself. The morning rises lighting up the seaside terrace where we often continue our morning sleep on the hammock.

On midday the sun starts shining to the swimming pool area and it can get pretty warm there as the main building blocks the possible sea wind. The evening at the dining area is like a painting. The setting sun paints the whole horizon red and purple and it's sometimes hard to leave the table because you don't want to miss one second of that unique beauty.

All berries at the property area are eatable and we often add blueberries and raspberries on our breakfast or dinner salad. This is the best tasting super food in the world. In the autumn the forests are full of mushrooms and especially chanterelles are easy to find and easy to cook. Make sure you don't eat the wrong kind of mushrooms. Google helps here. You'll also find fresh seasonal herbs at the pots on the swimming pool terrace and also by the sauna building by the sea.
